Our Listserv
Listservs allow those who subscribe to it to post e-mail messages that other subscribers can read (and respond to). Here's what you do:

  • to subscribe/unsubscribe:
    1. send an e-mail to listserv@ecumail7.ecu.edu and indicate in the body of the e-mail: SUBSCRIBE ECUMUG-L (or UNSUBSCRIBE ECUMUG-L)
    2. That's it!

  • to send a message to the list:
    1. send all messages to ECUMUG-L@ecumail7.ecu.edu
    2. type your message and send.
    3. IMPORTANT: do not use this e-mail address (above) to send requests for unsubscribing or other adjustments to your subscription!

  • DIGEST mode:
    1. if you would rather not receive individual e-mails from the listserv, you can have them all show up once per day, in one e-mail digest...
    2. send an e-mail to listserv@ecumail7.ecu.edu and indicate in the body of the e-mail: SET ECUMUG-L DIGEST
    3. to turn off DIGEST mode, send another e-mail to listserv@ecumail7.ecu.edu and type SET ECUMUG-L NODIGEST
    4. be sure you use the e-mail account you used when subscribing to the list, otherwise, it won't work.
    5. This DIGEST feature is definitely convenient if you already get a lot of e-mail, or will be gone on vacation or over the summer. Only one e-mail will be sent to you daily. Otherwise, you can unsubscribe and then re-subscribe if you plan to be away from e-mail for a lengthy time.

  • to receive a copy of your postings to the list:
    1. send an e-mail to listserv@ecumail7.ecu.edu and indicate in the body of the e-mail: SET ECUMUG-L REPRO
    2. to turn this feature off, send another e-mail to the same address and type SET ECUMUG-L NOREPRO

  • to receive an acknowledgement from the server that your message was sent to the list:
    1. send an e-mail to listserv@ecumail7.ecu.edu type in the body of the e-mail: SET ECUMUG-L ACK
    2. to turn this feature off, send another e-mail to the same address and type SET ECUMUG-L NOACK
